About

My name is Kristen Stone and I have been assisting clients with their French to English translation projects for nearly a decade.

My qualifications include:

  • Master of the Arts in Literary Translation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May of 2015
  • B.A. from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon with a double major in French Studies and International Affairs in 2010
  • Proz Certified Pro (Profile)
  • Member of ATA and ALTA
  • Volunteer for Translators Without Borders
  • TEFL degree (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) from International TEFL TESOL Training (ITTT) in 2010, with which I have helped students from around the world master the English language.

I have worked with a wide variety of direct clients and agencies, always meeting the predetermined deadlines. My work covers a wide variety of projects, including medical studies for academic journals, a series of books published on autism, numerous projects for NGOs and International Organizations, published fictional short stories, marketing for various products, extensive touristic information and much more. I am highly professional and pride myself on producing quality translations on time at competitive rates.

In addition to my substantial education and professional experience, I lived in France and Morocco for three and a half years, spending time in numerous regions. This experience has given me a solid understanding of varying dialects and cultural differences throughout these countries. I have also spent the last decade traveling the world, gaining what I consider to be an informal education on global cultural diversity.
